Re: Difficulty controlling emotion/being triggered with BPD

Hi @outlander

I get caught up very quickly in my emotions. It doesn’t take long before I go from zero to 10 in an instant. And then it stays high for days.

Things I’ve tried - gardening walking

but i find it very difficult to do that in the moment.

Re: Difficulty controlling emotion/being triggered with BPD

Hi @outlander. Much like @BlueBay, my emotions have been all over the place and very intense. I have been really struggling.I am trying to quit tobacco which hasn't helped. I have had many attempts... With my emotions though I have been even more out of control lately.. The other day for example I screamed blue murder at this total stranger who allowed her 2 dogs to rush mine and then it was instantly this huge dog fight. Yes I was scared my pup would be hurt but regardless my reaction was over the top. I unfortunately usually control my emotions in unhealthy ways with nicotine and alcohol and I really want to stop doing that. I end up feeling worse. Nicotine stimulates me so much. It doesn't relax me, I just feel more anxious.
