Hi @Lauz and everyone else.
I get high anxiety when I am away from home and away from my comforts and supports. We are going away for easter and my anxiety is already getting high just thinking about it.

Hi and welcome @Jm3 and @Former-Member - it's great to have you both here and bring each of your situations and experiences here tonight.
@Jm3 we are going to move through some feelings to then some strategies as we explore this topic tonight so you should find some advice and helpful content as we go through. @Former-Member that sounds like a lot going on for you and hopefully some of the thoughts and shared help tonight can help ease the anxiety - change is tough but there are things we can do to try to support ourselves when being away from home.

So its great to hear what some of you have coming up or have experiences around when it comes to travel or being away from home. What is interesting is that the feelings of apprehension or anxiety have started even before the travel. Sometimes the challenge of being away from home comes up before you have left. Maybe for some, it even stops you travelling.
When it comes to this apprehension of doing something like travelling or knowing you would be away from comfort zones, what does this feel and look like for you?

If it was my choice @Lauz then I wouldn't go away. But since it is a family holiday I have to put on my big girl pants and go for the families sake.
Even though I know where we are going and have been there before, it is still anxiety provoking. I will be around more people so that means socialising with people when I would normally avoid them. It means taking more meds to try and keep on top of my anxiety.
