Hey @avant-garde, I get that feeling - when everything is quiet and the brain becomes busy... what do you think you need most right now to feel more grounded? 💛

I've been listening to war stories because they seem to settle me in the evening as I fall asleep.
This one is called "the girl from the train" by Irma Joubert
It's about a German Jewish orphan girl with her sister travelling by train that gets destroyed by the resistance and Gretl is the only survivor after her older sister Elsa dies from a head injury.
One of the resistance ends up being delegated the responsibility of taking care of her so 21 year old Jakob takes her back to his family while waiting for the convent to be able to take her.
Right now Jakob has just gotten back injured from a resistance effort and little Gretl has been helping children learn to read (she's only 6 years old) but has learned about the Auschwitz camp from school and what the mean little girls are learning from their dads regarding her and this camp, so Gretl is asking Jakob questions.

@Dreamy hoping you are alright 🥀
@avant-garde 💐its interesting how reading about other people’s struggles can be grounding. Good luck with packing and the move. It’s huge. I am avoiding it if possible. Done it many times.
